JOHN GALLIANO BE MY HUSBAND??..

My favourite catwalk show of all time has to be John Galliano's 2007 show to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the house of Dior, at the 'Palace de Versailles'.
It was awe-strickenly beautiful, and with a price tag of more than 2 million, possibly one of the most expensive couture shows to create.
Supermodels such as Linda Evangelista, Shalom Harlow, Naomi Campbell, Nadja Auermann and Eva Herzigova paraded alongside Lily Cole and Erin O'Connor. While the front-row audience was equally starry, with singer Christina Aguilera and actors Drew Barrymore and Charlize Theron.
On the catwalk, chandeliers, broken statuary and ivy-covered gates were used to convey all elements of Christian Dior's home in the South of France.
Galliano chose to expose his interpretation of the sculpted corsetry that underlaid Dior's 1947 designs with see-through crinolines, fitted sheath dresses and elaborate gowns.
Beads, corsetry, applique, ruffles, lace...everything twinned with elegance, beauty and regalness was conveyed throughout the collection.
It is the most beautiful catwalk show I have seen, epitomising feminine beauty and putting Marie Antoinette to shame!

Worth a try..

Addiction to millinery?

I have an addiction.
It's not crack or heroin, but still as possibly damaging to my bank balance.
My name's Felicity and I am addicted to buying vintage hats.
ebay.
charity shops.
boutiques.
foreign markets.
even a burlesque store in france...
you name it, ive bought a hat from these places...Personally I blame this woman...
Oh Nicole, Nicole, Nicole......
If it had not been for your veil loving wardrobe of ornate burlesque fascinators, starring as Satine in moulin rouge, my wardrobe would be a far less crammed affair, and my bank statements would read plus rather than minus.
I love the glamour, the distinctiveness and the whole demeanour that goes with wearing ornate hats and fascinators.
Here are a couple of snaps and modelling photos of me wearing my ever expanding collection of millinery items...

The woman in black

One of my favourite fashion blogs is:    http://www.ashadedviewonfashion.com
It is written by an american born fashion eccentric based in Paris named Diane Pernet.
She is a brilliant journalist, yet her blog remains simple and simply documents her own movements in the fashion Sphere, and of up and coming designers and models.
However, continually documenting other peoples style in her blog, positively the most intriguing thing is her own style...I would describe her as a cross between morticia from the adams family, marilyn manson and an extremely scary star of a scottish widows advert roaming the highlands offering you life insurance....
Still, anyone over the age of 50, dressed head to toe in black, a voluminous veil and lashings of red lipstick surely does get my vote....
Also, and perhaps most frightening is the fact that I think i've just seen myself in the future...

Another blog that i enjoy looking at for style inspiration is:

It's produced by an anonymous male blogger who snaps street style photos of models and mere mortals around london, moscow, stolkholm, new york and many a fashion week! Here are some of my favourites:
